Since August 1, 2025, the district of Mansfeld-Südharz, together with Verkehrsgesellschaft Südharz mbH (VGS) and MoPla, has been putting a new mobility service on the road - flexible, fully electric and digitally bookable via app. The aim is to make local public transport in rural areas sustainable, efficient and needs-based.
Passengers can use our mopla platform to determine their own route with departure time, starting point and destination. The vehicles pick them up at real or virtual stops - without a fixed timetable. We bundle journey requests via ride pooling and thus enable a particularly economical use of resources. The service is operated with modern, fully electric vehicles.
The service is running as a subsidized pilot via the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (§44 PBefG-compliant) and covers the entire district of Mansfeld-Südharz. Main routes will remain in place, while less frequented journeys will be replaced by the on-demand service - at no additional cost to the district.
Booking and payment can be made conveniently via the mopla app (iOS, Android or web app), and the Deutschland-Ticket is also recognized. The district adult education center also offers training courses for older users.
We are delighted that, as a technology partner, we are able to drive forward the mobility transition in Mansfeld-Südharz together with VGS - digitally, practically and electrically.
