Starting October 1, 2026, the Saalekreis district will offer a new transportation service: “Saalekreis mobil,” an on-demand bus service. You can easily book a ride using the mopla app or via the web app at app.mopla.solutions.
Mobile, Whenever It's Convenient
“Saalekreis mobil” supplements traditional scheduled bus service throughout the county. Instead of following a fixed schedule, the vehicles operate when booked. Ride requests with similar routes are automatically grouped together. Up to eight vehicles will be in service at launch. There’s no need for fixed stops: After entering the address, the app displays the exact pick-up and drop-off points. Whether it’s a doctor’s appointment, grocery shopping, or the start of a shift, the service fills in the gaps where no suitable bus or train runs. If a suitable bus or train is already running at the desired time, that connection takes priority, and “Saalekreis mobil” cannot be booked at that time.
The app will indicate whether a ride is available when you place an order.

Fare
A valid MDV ticket, such as a single-ride ticket or the Deutschlandticket, is required. In addition, there is a surcharge per trip consisting of a base fare of 1.00 or 2.00 euros, plus 0.10 or 0.20 euros per kilometer as the crow flies. The lower surcharge applies Monday through Friday from 8:01 a.m. to 11:59 a.m. and from 3:01 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Children under 8 years of age ride for free when accompanied by an adult; school-age children pay half the service fee. The surcharge does not apply to holders of a severe disability ID card and token.
An offer for the entire Saale District
“Saalekreis mobil” is a joint project of the Saalekreis district, PNVG Personennahverkehrsgesellschaft Merseburg-Querfurt mbH, and OBS Omnibusbetrieb Saalekreis GmbH.
